Reversible Contraception 
Intrauterine System of Progesterone Liberation (SIU-LNG)

This contraceptive method must be inserted inside the uterus in a gynecological appointment.

 

Does not contain estrogen and can be used by women with any restrictions to the use of this hormone.

It can be used by women that haven't had children yet. It can also be used by adolescents that have already started sexual activity.

Prevents pregnancy for 5 years, when it must be removed and a new SIU inserted.

 

Does not protect against STIs.
